Tramin Apple Tree - 9FM54-
Out of stock
The apple is grown in the beautiful wine-growing village of Tramin on Lake Caldaro and promises sensual pleasures, like the eponymous Gewürztraminer—the treasure of this region: aromatic, spicy, sweet, yet with a refined acidity. Furthermore, this early-ripening variety draws its potential from other properties: Tramin is resistant to scab (Rvi6 scab-resistant), the fruits ripen in the South Tyrolean plains starting in the first week of August, and are characterized by their good shelf life. Medium-slow growth, with excellent branching, easy to manage in the trunk training system.
Ripening: mid-August
Quality
The flesh is very firm, yellowish-white in color, very crunchy and with a good bite, juicy, and fine in texture.
Taste:
Sweet with fine, noble acidity, particularly good aroma, reminiscent of Gewürztraminer wine.
Plant height at delivery: approximately 150-180 cm.

Pollination
Apple trees are self-sterile and therefore do not bear fruit or bear fruit poorly, unless cross-pollinated with a specific variety. The ideal conditions for proper pollination are:
- take into account the prevailing wind in the case of anemophilous pollination (pollination by wind)
- in the case of entomophilous pollination (by pollinating insects), we recommend distances no greater than 20 meters.
In turn, the pollinator needs the plant it has pollinated to bear fruit (except in cases where it is self-fertile).
Planting times
Ideally, it is best to plant fruit trees in late autumn, that is, in the months of November and December (before the frost), although planting later in the winter is also possible if the ground is not frozen. Another ideal time for planting is February-March, or at the latest until mid-April. If the plants were previously grown in pots, planting can also be done in the following months, taking due care and keeping the root ball intact. Fruit trees grow well in fertile, deep, and permeable soil. If the soil is very clayey and rather compact, it is advisable to ensure deep drainage.
NB : The ripening times of all fruit trees can be early or late, even by a week or more, depending on exposure and climate.
