SUPERB BASIL - 1010

A highly selected variety of the "Genovese classico" type. A medium-compact plant with broad, slightly wavy, spoon-shaped leaves, a bright, dark green color; intensely fragrant and carefully selected, "mint-free." An ideal variety for making Genoese pesto; it is used as an ornamental and aromatic herb for its sweet, delicate scent. It has an early growing season with medium-late flowering. Suitable for temperate climates, as it is not frost-resistant; it can be grown indoors, in greenhouses, or outdoors.

This variety was obtained by selecting and isolating plants with a high content of essential oils (cineole, eugenol, linalool), which produce an intense, fragrant, and fresh scent. They do not contain estragole, which is responsible for the mint aroma.
