SAKU SAKU HYBRID F1 CABBAGE - 1727

available icon In stock

This is a typical Japanese cabbage, perfect for enjoying raw in salads and as an accompaniment to fried foods. Saku Saku, which means crunchy in Japanese, with its characteristic well-separated and airy leaves, pairs very well with our breaded cutlets, making them lighter and more digestible. In Japan, it is the obligatory side dish for tonkatsu (similar to our Milanese cutlet).

Interesting fact: Saku Saku is rich in vitamin U (or methylmethionine), a great ally of your intestines that promotes the regeneration of the intestinal mucosa, combats annoying gastroesophageal reflux, and prevents and quickly heals intestinal ulcers.

SOWING/TRANSPLANTATION

Transplanting is usually recommended for professional production, while in a home garden, direct sowing is also possible, spaced 15-20 centimeters apart.

For transplanting, a distance of about 30 cm is recommended. It takes about 40-45 days from sowing to transplanting.

GROWING SECRETS

It is very important to avoid water shortages in the early stages of germination, and to withhold water for 8-10 days afterwards to encourage root growth in length and strength. Restart watering to improve the head size.

From transplanting, the saku saku cycle is around 70-75 days.

HARVEST

When the leaves are well-enveloped and the head reaches a size of about 30 centimeters, it can be harvested. Cut close to the ground and remove the leaves as desired.
