A variety of citron with very large, thick-skinned fruits of an intense yellow color. The highly fragrant peel is used in jams and candied fruit. Its primary use is in the pharmaceutical industry for the production of essential oils.

 

Citrus fruits are self-fertile plants, although the presence of another variety (same genus and species) increases fruit set (i.e., the transformation of flowers into fruit).
