MARSOL CHESTNUT - 9FR98-

The Marsol chestnut is a Euro-Japanese hybrid variety (Castanea sativa × Castanea crenata) distinguished by its low sensitivity to the gall wasp (Dryocosmus kuriphilus), thanks to careful genetic selection and years of field observations. Compared to its more susceptible progenitor, it shows a greater phytosanitary resistance and excellent vegetative vigor.
The plant is very vigorous, with erect growth habit and good adaptability to different soil types, a characteristic that makes it ideal both as a rootstock and as a productive variety.
The fruit is large, with shiny reddish-brown skin, sweet pulp with a good flavor, suitable for both fresh consumption and processing.
The harvest takes place approximately 15 days after the Bouche de Bétizac, with consistent yields and high productivity. Marsol and Bouche de Bétizac are compatible as mutual pollinators, improving the fruiting and overall yield of the plant.
Thanks to its resistance to chestnut blightand its partial tolerance to chestnut ink disease, the Marsol chestnut is one of the most reliable varieties for modern and sustainable plantations.
Plant height at delivery : approximately 80-100 cm
