Family: Leguminosae/Papilionaceae. Sowing: directly in the ground only when the temperature has stabilized above 10°C; in practice, starting in March in southern regions and elsewhere starting in April. Sowing can be staggered until June so as to be able to harvest the beans at different times. The growing cycle varies from 2 to 3 months. Seeds required: 1.5 - 2 kg per 100 m2 of land. Spacing: sow in rows 40/50 cm apart, planting 3-4 seeds 20/25 cm apart along the rows. The seed should be buried 2-3 cm deep. Fertilization: beans grow well in fertile soil that has been fertilized with organic fertilizers only the year before sowing. Avoid using immature manure. Helpful tips: it is advisable to lightly earth up the soil around the plants to form longitudinal furrows.
