Eucomis, commonly known as the "pineapple lily" due to its distinctive shape, is a bulbous plant belonging to the Asparagaceae family. This fascinating plant is native to southern Africa and stands out for its unique characteristics and spectacular flowers.

Characteristics of the Eucomis Plant

1. Physical Appearance
   Eucomis has long, lanceolate leaves that grow in a rosette, giving the plant an elegant, tropical appearance. The flowers, which grow on a long stem, are gathered in spike-shaped inflorescences similar to those of the pineapple, hence the nickname.
2. Flowering
