Feijoa sellowiana 'Unique' produces medium-sized, smooth-skinned, light green fruits with a delicate, juicy flavor. The fruit ripens in mid-autumn. It also boasts beautiful red flowers that bloom from late spring to mid-summer. Unlike other feijoa cultivars, it is self-fertile and does not require a pollinator to produce fruit. Feijoa sellowiana is an evergreen tree native to the highlands of southern Brazil, eastern Paraguay, Uruguay, northern Argentina, and Colombia. Feijoa sellowiana 'Unique' was developed by Dennis Barton in New Zealand.
