FAMILY Apiaceae / Umbelliferae
Sowing: Plant in the ground or in a seedbed, in summer, for autumn-winter consumption.
Transplanting: When they are manageable, plant at a distance of 45-50 cm between rows, and within the row at 20-25 cm.
Tips: Earth up the plants lightly to keep them white and tender, and water generously. Staggered sowing is preferable to ensure consistently tender plants. Seed requirements: 2-3 g per square meter in a seedbed; 25-30 g per 100 m2 in the ground.
