Description
Edible and nutritious fruits
From October, the branches are covered with small, edible berries, sweet and slightly tart, rich in vitamins A, C, and E, trace elements, fatty acids, amino acids, and lycopene, a powerful antioxidant.
For a more abundant yield, it is recommended to grow at least two different cultivars close together.
Growth and growth habit
- Height: 2.5 – 3 meters
-
Growth: slow, about 0.5 m per year
-
Habit: shrub with broad, irregular growth
Where to plant it
It prefers sunny, warm locations, in well-drained soilwith a slightly acidic or alkaline pH. It is highly resistant to drought, air pollution, and cold (USDA zones 6–9).
Soak the pot in water for 10–30 minutes before planting. Dig a hole approximately 60 x 60 x 60 cm, adding soil to the bottom. Fill with fertile soil. Compact and mulch with bark. Place the root ball at the same depth as the pot. Fertilize from April and water as needed during the growing season. It does not require regular pruning: after a few years, when the plant becomes thicker, you can perform a light thinning pruning, avoiding excessive cuts that reduce fruiting. Planting and care
