Introduction: Iris Germanica, or Iris, is a hardy perennial plant that is easy to grow from its rhizomes.
- Soil Selection and Location:
Exposure: Sunny or partially shaded. At least 6 hours of direct sunlight a day are recommended for optimal flowering.
- Planting Rhizomes:
Period: Spring
Depth: Plant the rhizomes with the tops slightly above the ground, about 5-10 cm deep.
Spacing: Maintain a distance of about 40-50 cm between each rhizome to allow for adequate growth.
- Care and Maintenance:
Watering: Avoid waterlogging; they love drought.
Fertilizing: In spring, apply a slow-release fertilizer specifically for indoor plants. Flower.
Pruning: Remove dead leaves and faded flowers to promote growth and prevent disease. After flowering, cut the flower stems back to the base.
