Useful tips for growing lily bulbs (Lilium):

Planting: Choose a well-drained, sunny location for planting. Make sure the soil is rich in nutrients and has good drainage to prevent waterlogging.

Planting depth: Plant the bulbs at a depth of approximately 10–15 cm, leaving enough space between them to allow for optimal growth.

Watering: Water the bulbs after planting and keep the soil moderately moist. Avoid excess water, which may cause root rot.

Fertilisation: Apply a balanced fertiliser or a fertiliser specifically for flowering plants, following the instructions on the packaging. Fertilisation can be done at the start of growth and again during the flowering season.

Winter protection: In cold climates, cover the bulbs with a layer of mulch to protect them from frost and severe winter cold.

Plant support: As some Lilium varieties grow tall, it may be necessary to provide support such as stakes or plant supports to prevent the stems from bending under the weight of the flowers.

Removal of faded flowers: Remove spent flowers to encourage the plant to focus its energy on producing new blooms rather than seeds.

Autumn maintenance: Once flowering is complete, allow the leaves to yellow naturally before cutting them back completely. The leaves provide nourishment to the bulbs for the next growing season.
