PLEUROTUS OSTREATUS MUSHROOM - 1178
Out of stock
It is also known as Sbrise, Orecchiette, Ostricone, Gelone, Melina, and Sfiandrina. Its abundant growth, attractive appearance, and hardiness offer the enthusiast good chances of success both when grown on artificial or straw substrates and on poplar stumps, but never on coniferous stumps.

Description
The method, initially developed for industrial use, is now only a hobby, and we recommend using our mycelium (seed) specifically designed for logs, as described below.
GENERAL NOTES
Inoculation period: possible year-round, but preferably from April to June.
Planting the inoculated logs: August to October.
Production: from autumn to spring for 3 consecutive years with expected mushroom production equal to over 20% of the weight of green wood (1/2 the 1st year, 1/3 the 2nd year, 1/6 the 3rd year).
Although all broadleaf wood can be used, best results are obtained with poplar.
INCUBATION AND INOCULATION
Use a well-cleaned corner of a cool, little-used, dark room, e.g. cellar.
Lay out a clean piece of cardboard on the floor, moisten it, and sprinkle it with mycelium (avoid stepping on and contaminating the mycelium).
Lay out a first layer of logs, add more logs, more mycelium, and continue until there are a maximum of 5 layers.
On the last layer, spread more mycelium and cover with cardboard.
Cover the mass with well-washed jute bags or other clean scrap fabrics, moisten and cover again with a sheet of polyethylenewithout sealing.
If everything is regular, you will begin to observe the development of the mycelium from the 15th day. At the end of incubation (2-3 months), the strains will be covered with a white patina with a pleasant smell that most of the time also invades the jute bags, which, in this case, are capable of producing mushrooms.
Attention:The incubation temperature must be maintained between 20-28°C (if it rises, remove the polyethylene sheet and moisten).
PLANTING AND PRODUCTION
Transport the inoculated strains to the chosen production location (garden, fields, undergrowth, etc.) and bury them three-quarters of their height, sheltered from sun and wind.
Keep the stumps that will bear fruit during the above-mentioned period moist.
