Pea Afila Microgreen Seeds

Pea Afila is one of the most popular varieties for microgreen production thanks to its vigorous growth, numerous delicate tendrils and naturally sweet, fresh taste. It produces tender, crunchy shoots that enhance salads, sandwiches, bowls and gourmet dishes.

Germination is quick and uniform. After soaking the seeds for 8–12 hours, microgreens are ready to harvest in 8–12 days when they reach 8–12 cm in height. The plants develop strong stems and characteristic curling tendrils, offering both high yield and excellent visual appeal.

Suitable for year-round indoor cultivation in trays with light potting soil or coconut coir. Provide moderate watering and good light after germination. Ideal for home growing, vertical farming and small commercial production.

Key Features:
• Fast and uniform growth

Afila peas are ideal for microgreen production thanks to their numerous tender tendrils and fresh, sweet flavour.

1. Soaking
Soak the seeds in water for 8–12 hours. This accelerates and evens out germination.

2. Substrate
Use a tray with 3–4 cm of light soil or well-levelled coconut fibre. Moisten before sowing.

3. Sowing
Spread the seeds densely but without overlapping them excessively. Cover lightly with a thin layer of substrate or press gently.

4. Germination
Keep in the dark for 2–3 days, keeping the substrate moist but not soggy. Ideal temperature 18–22 °C.

5. Growth
Expose to natural or artificial light after sprouting. Water moderately, avoiding waterlogging.

6. Harvesting
After 8–12 days, when the seedlings reach 8–12 cm and develop tender tendrils, cut at the base with clean scissors
