Azalea Encore® – Evergreen Repeat-Blooming Azalea (Spring – Autumn)

Azalea Encore® is a line of repeat-blooming Rhododendron hybrids developed to ensure sequential blooms from spring to autumn, while maintaining a compact habit and good hardiness. This variety is ideal for use in residential and urban landscaping, borders, acidic flowerbeds, and container cultivation.

Botanical and agronomic characteristics:

• Species: Rhododendron hybrid (Encore® series)
• Growth habit: shrubby, compact, spreading
• Adult height: 0.8 – 1.2 m (depending on the cultivar)
• Foliage: evergreen, leathery, glossy dark green
• Flowering: main bloom in April-May, followed by repeat blooms in summer and autumn
• Inflorescences: axial, composed of funnel-shaped flowers of Various shades (pink, red, white, lavender)

Cultivation requirements:

• Exposure: Full sun or bright partial shade (more light = better reflowering)
• Substrate: Acidic (pH 4.5 – 5.5), rich in organic matter, well-draining
• Watering: Regular, keeping the substrate cool but not saturated
• Fertilization: Specific for acid-loving plants, slow-release, twice a year (spring and late summer)
• Hardy: Good resistance to temperatures down to -12/-15°C, with protection in very cold areas
• Pruning: Not necessary, except to maintain the shape or remove flowers wilted
