Basil
Ingegnoli basil seeds (Ocimum basilicum, Lamiaceae family) cover every use in the kitchen: classic Genovese basil, ideal for pesto, also organic and on seed tape; Gecom (formerly Bageco), a Genovese type resistant to Fusarium wilt; fine-leaved Greek bush basil, perfect for pots; Neapolitan lettuce-leaf basil and giant-leaved Mammouth; red basil Red Rubin and fragrant lemon basil Limoncello.
Sow from March indoors in warmth, or from April-May directly in pots or open ground, using about 1 g of seed per m² of seedbed. Basil loves sun and regular watering: pinching out the tips delays flowering and extends the harvest.
