Description
PEAS (Phaseolus family)
Sowing: In October-November in temperate climates where temperatures do not drop below -8°C. In March-April everywhere. Peas grow even at temperatures of 5°C. Sowing is done in rows in the open field, burying the seed in holes 4-6 cm apart. Spacing: Varies greatly depending on the vigor of the variety: 45-60 cm between rows for dwarf varieties; 70-20 cm for climbing varieties; 5-20 cm within the row. Tips: Earth up the developed plants and provide adequate support for climbing varieties. When harvesting, for fresh use, wrinkled-grained peas are more resistant to storage, while smooth-grained peas should be harvested as soon as they ripen. Staggered sowing is recommended to ensure a consistently fresh product. Seeds required: 1.5-2 kg per 100 m2.
