Sowing: from April to May, 3-4 seeds per hole at a depth of 2 cm, directly in the open ground, when the soil is at least 20 °C, or in March-April in pots indoors for early crops.
Transplanting: outdoors in late April-early May, once the risk of frost has passed.
Distances: between rows 1.5-2.5 m, along the row 0.8-1.5 m, depending on vigour.
Tips: leave only one plant in each hole; pinch off the main shoot above the fourth leaf and proceed in the same way with the lateral shoots. Rotate as long as possible, but do not grow after Solanaceae or after species from the same family.
Seeds needed: 50-70 g per 100 m2 of soil, depending on the variety.
