Long roots, without a heart; they are eaten during the autumn and winter boiled or sautéed whole or in slices. The young leaves can also be enjoyed in salads dressed with oil, pepper, and salt, with the addition, if desired, of lemon or shallot wine vinegar. Also called barbabuc
Sowing period: from March to June.
How to sow: directly in the ground, in rows.
Seed needed: 50 - 60 g per 100 m2 of soil.
Distances: 30-40 cm between rows and 5-10 cm along the rows.
Practical advice: If the seedlings grow close together, thin them out.
