Description
Family Cucurbitaceae
Sowing: Indoors in February-March, 2-3 seeds per pot for early harvests. Outdoors, plant in the ground, in April-May, 3-4 seeds per hole. They will not germinate if the soil temperature is not around
20°C.
Transplanting: Outdoors in April-May, thin out, leaving one plant per hole when the plants have 3-4 leaves.
Spacing: 1-1.5 m between rows, 0.8-1 m between rows.
Tips: Water abundantly, otherwise predominantly male flowers will form. Harvest daily or every 2-3 days when the flower at the tip of the fruit begins to close. The larger the fruit grows, the more it loses its characteristic flavor. Grow in soil rich in organic matter and do not plant after Solanaceae or plants from the same family as Cucurbitaceae.
Seed requirements: 50-60 g per 100 m2 of soil.
