Areca - EW-15300

The Dypsis lutescens, also known as Areca, is an evergreen palm native to Madagascar, belonging to the Arecaceae family. This indoor perennial has an erect growth habit with dark green bipinnate leaves that grow from a stiff stem. In the wild, it can reach several meters in height, but in a pot, it stays around 2 meters.

The Areca is prized for its ornamental foliage and its air-purifying ability. Flowering, which in nature produces large white or yellow flowers during the summer, is rarer when grown in pots. Easy to grow, it requires a humid environment, with periodic misting of the foliage, and temperatures no lower than 18-20 degrees Celsius. Place the plant in a bright location, avoiding direct sunlight to preserve the foliage. During hotter periods, it can be placed outdoors in partial shade.

To keep Dypsis lutescens healthy, we recommend good-quality soil with adequate drainage. Keep the soil constantly moist with frequent watering, avoiding water stagnation in the saucer.
