2566 - BELLS OF IRELAND (Moluccella L.)-

Available In stock

Hardy annual that will do well in poor soil, even under drought conditions. These attractive spikes with apple-green calyces will germinate and grow under harsh conditions, and they require very little to truly thrive. This plant got its name from its common use in St. Patrick’s Day celebrations but is native to Turkey, Syria and the Caucasus. It was first cultivated in Belgium for use in the perfume industry upon its introduction to Europe. Due to its origins, the plant requires hot temperatures, a humid environment and ample water to truly thrive, but will perform in most conditions given warm enough temperatures. The tall spikes make excellent greenery for floral decorations and have a minty fragrance when fresh!
