Botanical description

The Gardenia 'Kleim's Hardy' is a compact and hardy variety of the traditional Gardenia jasminoides, selected to tolerate higher temperatures. Stiffer than other cultivars. It produces large, white, star-shaped flowers, single but very elegant, with an intense, long-lasting fragrance.

The foliage is dark, glossy, and leathery and remains decorative year-round. Ideal for temperate gardens or as a potted plant requiring protection in colder climates.

Cultivation Requirements

-Location: Morning sun or bright partial shade

-Soil: Acidic, rich, well-drained (pH 5.0–6.5)

-Watering: Regular with non-calcareous water

-Fertilization: From March to September with products for acid-loving plants

-Pruning: After flowering, to maintain a compact shape

-Hardy: Up to -10/-12°C (one of the hardiest gardenias) rustic)
